THE Lipstick Melodies are appearing at The Horn in St Albans next Wednesday, May 22, showcasing their soulful vintage rock/blues.

They are fronted by singer/guitarist Alan Wass, who became infamous through his media-documented rock‘n’roll lifestyle and friendship with troubled star Pete Doherty.

The five-piece band includes Richie Stevens (piano and backing vocals) from St Albans and drummer/percussionist, Phil Clarke, from Harpenden, with Sky Murphy (guitar and backing vocals) and Alexi Christou on bass.

Among the songs they will be performing at The Horn will be their first single, Hired Gun which intertwines 1970s angst with 1960s soul.

The Libertines’ front man, Doherty, met Wass more than a decade ago, and the pair became pals, touring together since. They co-wrote the number five years ago, which The Lipstick Melodies produced and released last month to kick-start their professional career.

The Lipstick Melodies will play alongside Tequila Mockingbird, Florida Room and The Run-up at the Horn.

n Appearing at The Horn tonight (Thursday) are The Dead Famous supported by Echoes Of An Age and She Formed The Skies.

The Dead Famous have sold out a number of shows across London while Echoes Of An Age are an alt-rock band from Hemel Hempstead and She Formed The Skies, based in Bedfordshire, a four-piece pop-rock band.
