THE posthumous, biographical story of Jonathan Larson’s attempts to make it as a composer is behind Tick, Tick Boom at the Trestle Arts Base in St Albans next week.
MProductions is returning to the arts base in Russet Drive with Tick, Tick Boom which blends pop, rock and musical theatre styles and takes the audience on the playwright/composer’s journey that led to the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Broadway blockbuster Rent.
The show encourages knowledge of the composer through his music alongside the run-up to his 30th birthday. It explores universal questions including the struggles of living in New York in the 1990s.
MProductions are based in Herts and the company is run by three people who are currently students of two of the country’s top drama schools, The Central School of Speech and Drama and The Manchester School of Theatre.
