A SLICE of Saturday Night can be enjoyed on four nights - including a Saturday - at the Radlett Centre in February. Elstree Productions are taking audiences back to the Swinging Sixties for their show which follows hot on the heels of their last three successes - Return to the Forbidden Planet, Sweet Charity and Cabaret. The new show is currently in rehearsals with a young cast of singers and dancers. A Slice of Saturday Night is a musical spoof on the rituals of teenagers in the Sixties and swings back to the decade where girls were dressed in mini skirts and boys in Chelsea boots. The songs are shamelessly poached from the music of Cliff Richard and the Shadows to Bob Dylan via the Beatles. As well as the singing and dancing, the show relates to the comedy and pathos of young teenagers trying to live out their hopes and dreams. Making their debut with Elstree Productions, who are putting on the show from February 8 to 11, are director Trevor Oakes and musical director Graham Nichols. Tickets are priced from £9 to £12 and are available from the Radlett Centre on 01923 859291.
