Transition St Albans, which is part of the global grassroots transition towns movement, is showing the film at 7.30pm on Tuesday (November 24) in Trinity Church Hall, Beaconsfield Road, St Albans.
When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1990, Cuba's economy went into a tailspin. With imports of oil cut by more than half and food by 80 per cent people were desperate.
The film shows how communities pulled together, created solutions and ultimately thrived despite having far less oil available.
Admission to the screening is 3 with concessions 1.
