Live bands and acoustic acts brought the Summer Sounds music festival alive for six hours in Clarence Park, St Albans.
It featured some of the best young popular musicians in Herts, all of whom were chosen by a panel of young people.
Styles ranged from the chilled summer beats of the DJ to indie rock and the punk pop of Trash Boat by way of the angst and soul of the singer-songwriters.
Festival goers also had the chance to take a ride on a rodeo bull, record their feelings on a message in a bottle with the St Albans Youth Council and picnic in the sunshine.
Among the visitors was St Albans Mayor Geoff Harrison, who said: “It is wonderful to see so many young volunteers giving up their weekend and working together to make an event like this take place.”
The festival was funded by St Albans district council working in partnership with Youth Connexions and the St Albans Arts Team from 1Life.
