It is summer shutdown time at the Alban Arena which will be closing its doors from next Monday, August 4, until August 17.
The annual closure is to carry out maintenance and repairs ranging from deep cleaning to wall painting.
The first show after the reopening will be five-time Folk Award winners Bellowhead on Thursday, August 21.
Dubbed “The greatest live act in Britain”, by BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo, Bellowhead was formed in 2004 and comprises an 11-piece band fusing folk, funk, rock, world, jazz, music hall and classical music.
The evening kicks off at 8pm and although seated tickets for this show have sold out, standing tickets at £19 are still available, online at www.alban-arena.co.uk or from 10am to 3pm daily during the closure period on 01727 844488.
