Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler flies into the University of Herts’ Weston Auditorium next weekend direct from a West End season.
Adapted for the stage by Tall Stories, it is suitable for children aged three and upwards and runs for less than an hour.
The witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick - until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat, bow and wand. A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch’s lost things and they all hop on the broom for a ride.
But the broomstick’s not meant for five and snaps in two - and then a hungry dragon appears.
Performances are at 1.30pm and 4.30pm next Saturday, July 4, and at 10.30am and 1.30pm next Sunday, July 5. To book tickets go to the website herts.ac.uk/about-us/arts-and-galleries/visit-us/the-weston-auditorium/home.cfm or call 01707 281127
