German photographic artist Steffi Klenz is Plotting Spaces in a exhibition at the Museum of St Albans that runs until mid May.
Preoccupied with the built environment, she explores the notion of place and spatiality in her work, challenging conventional conceptions of architectural representation.
The images in the exhibition entitled Plotting Spaces are a response to the architecture of the theatre and in particular the mechanics of staging and lighting.
The images reveal the tension between the narrative tendencies and the abstract possibilities of both mechanisms.
The exhibition is at the museum’s UH Galleries and is supported by the University for the Creative Arts and Arts Council England.
