A FILM festival in St Albans will give talented young film-makers the opportunity to rub shoulders with the stars.

The Adders Youth Film Festival and Awards Ceremony will take place at The Alban Arena next month and young film makers have until Saturday to enter their short films, animations, trailers, music videos and screenplays for a chance to win an award.

A judging panel comprising working directors, writers and famous actors will be awarding 15 prizes for everything from Best Actress to Best Director, Best Film and Best Original Soundtrack at the final on October 25.

Co-Festival director Alex Campbell said of The Adders: "It offers a unique place to talk to fellow film makers and rub shoulders with judges and industry professionals to gain tips and tricks for the future. It's truly a vital and memorable experience."

Film makers aged 19 and under can enter their work, which must be no more than 15 minutes long, into the festival for free by downloading a form on The Adders website, www.adderfilms.co.uk/the adders
