SIX talented youngsters have won scholarships to a St Albans stage school for a year after auditions last month.
The Deputy Mayor of St Albans, Cllr Geoff Harrison, presented the youngsters with their places at weekly classes at Top Hat Stage School a week later.
The winners in the six to eight year category were Emily Hughes, eight, from Wood End primary school in Harpenden and Miriam Jones, six, of Bowmansgreen JMI in London Colney.
Tallulah Finley-Leighton, 11, a pupil at Francis Bacon, and Teigan Ettienne, 11, of St Adrian’s primary, both in St Albans, were awarded the scholarships in the nine to 11 category and Olivia Riches, 14, of St Albans Girls School, and Jordan Bisla, 12, of Putteridge School, were successful in the 12 to 17 category.
Top Hat principal Warren Bacci said: “We ran the scheme as we wanted to find a child who had the passion and the talent for performing but otherwise couldn’t afford to attend a stage school such as ours. It was such a delight to meet so much undiscovered talent in St Albans and I look forward to next year.”
