Lissa writes books for both adults and children and has been nominated for an array of awards including the Orange Prize, the Carnegie Medal and the Costa Awards.

Crooked Heart was long listed for the Bailey’s Prize for Women’s Fiction and tells the tale of the relationship between an orphan evacuee during World War 2 and his foster mother in wartime St Albans.

The author talk will be followed by a question and answer session and a book-signing.

The event is being held at Waterstones in St Peter’s Street from 7.30pm and tickets at £3, which include a glass of wine and nibbles, are available from the store or online.
