A teenage schoolboy from st Albans is to appear with the English National Ballet in Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall in London next month.

Basil James, 14, a student on the junior dance course at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, is one of 13 dancers from the school who will be taking to the stage in the Swan Lake in-the-round performance at the Royal Albert Hall from June 1 to 12.

He will be performing alongside dancers from the English National Ballet in the production, choreographed by Derek Deane, former artistic director of the company. There are 120 performers in total in a performance which sees the Royal Albert Hall transformed into a magical lake.

Director of dance, Rachel Rist: “Basil is a brilliant young dancer, who cannot wait to dance with members of the English National Ballet in this spectacular adaptation of Swan Lake in the Royal Albert Hall. This is a great opportunity for Basil, who is a hard-working student, dedicated to being a truly brilliant performer.”
