A SECONDARY school is gearing up for is first annual dance showcase to be held later this month.

Francis Bacon School in Drakes Drive, St Albans, is holding the event, entitled Wanna be Starting Somethin' at 7pm on Wednesday, March 24.

It will feature staff and student-choreographed works developed at a high level and to demonstrate the level of enthusiasm, there has been plenty of poppin' and lockin' in the hallways of the school.

The aim of the showcase is to motivate students to produce their best work, instil a passion for dance and raise money to support the continued development of dance education at Francis Bacon.

It is hoped it will raise enough cash to purchase equipment such as ballet barres and sound equipment and bring in guest artists to provide workshop experiences for students.

Tickets are 3 for adults and 1.50 for students/seniors and they can be purchased through the school or by emailing c.desimone@francisbacon.herts.sch.uk
