An 85-year tradition could come to an end unless St Albans Morris can attract new dancers of either sex.
The dance group faces extinction unless numbers can be boosted and St Albans Morris are now urgently seeking men and women to join and stave off its demise.
Tok that end they are holding a taster evening from 8pm until 10pm next Monday, January 18, at the Scout Hut in Riverside Road, St Albans, which will be followed by adjournment to the pub.
Found in the 1930s as St Albans Morris Men the club, like many others at present, is struggling to attract dancing members but at one stage it had had over 25 active dancers.
Describing morris dancing as sociable, a chance to get out to pubs and events and a lot cheaper than going to the gym, St Albans Morris can be contacted at 01727 833028 or 01707 883476 for more information.
