The sweet taste of success greeted performances of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by youngsters from a local dance school at the SandPit Theatre in St Albans on Sunday.
Approximately 80 children aged from four to 15 who belong to the Penny Waterman School of Dance put on two performances of the show.
The musical theatre groups, who had been rehearsing for a year, took on the main cast parts joined by the ballet, tap and street dancers, who performed as the “sweets” after six months in rehearsal.
Delighted parents, relatives and friends made up the audience and commented on how professional the children were.
In September the school will begin in preparation for next year’s show expected to be excerpts from various musicals including Frozen.
