Internationally-renowned local composer Alexander L’Estrange has been commissioned by the Chapter House Choir of York to write a 45-minute piece of choral music to celebrate the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2014.
But for those who can’t get to York to hear Song Cycle – Vive la Vélorution, which will be premièred in York Minster this Saturday (June 28) a couple of the Song Cycle songs are being performed at 2.30pm on Sunday (29) in Wheathampstead.
The Quorum Singers will be performing works by Alexander L’Estrange and others in a charity concert entitled Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon at St Helens Church.
Tickets, which include a strawberry cream tea, are £10 on the door.
