Ten small books on trees for small people have been published by local author Kate Bretherton.
The author of The Remarkable Trees of St Albans took on board comments from readers that they wished they had learned to recognise trees as children and created a series of Hello Trees books geared at children.
Each book is given a name and they range from Arthur and Annie Ash through Crabby Crabapple to Olly Oak.
They focus on common trees which are easy to spot while out and about.
Kate is hosting a workshop for youngsters at 11am and 3pm this Saturday (24) at Waterstones in St Albans at which she will have magnifying glasses, twigs, flowers and fruits for the children to scrutinise and look up.
