A surprise and a treat for the audience is how David Temple, musical director of Hertfordshire Chorus, is describing this Saturday’s concert at St Albans Abbey.

For the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, the choir will be performing Mozart’s Requiem joined by more than 80 other singers, some of whom have little or no singing experience.

They are the Sing Mozart! choir who have been rehearsing since the middle of January in preparation for the concert and will swell the numbers singing to 200.

David said: “It’s been great fun. All the singers have really put in a lot of effort and even though many are real beginners the quality and balance of the combined forces has got to be heard to be believed.”

Tickets are available from the Abbey box office on 01727 890 290 or through the Chorus website.
