FIFTY years of theatre performances at Shaw’s Corner – the former home of George Bernard Shaw – is being marked by performances of two of his plays this month and next.
From tomorrow (25) until Sunday, June 27, there will be performances of You Never Can Tell which starts with an intriguing family, newly arrived from Madeira, in search of love and a father.
And from Friday, July 23, to Sunday, July 25, the play will be Widowers’ Houses. A satirical comedy of passion, power and money, it tells what follows when a father discovers his daughter in the arms of a stranger.
All performances at Shaw’s Corner in Ayot St Lawrence start at 6.30pm and the garden opens an hour earlier for picnickers.
Tickets are available at �16 for adults, �12 for children and �13.50 for a group of 10 or more, in advance from the box office on 0844 249 1895. They will also available on the night but slightly more expensive.
