Scandinavian sparkle is promised when the de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra is joined by Marcus Dawe for its Christmas concert next Sunday, December 6. December, 3pm
Marcus, winner of the Hatfield and District Music Festival 2015, will perform the Flute Concerto by Danish composer, Carl Nielsen, in the concert at the Weston Auditorium at the University of Herts’ de Havilland campus in Hatfield that starts at 3pm.
The programme will then move on to Sibelius’s Fifth Symphony, commissioned by the Finnish Government to celebrate the composer’s own 50th birthday in 1915.
The orchestra is conducted by Robin Browning and admission is £20 with concessions £15, children £8 and students £6. Tickets can be obtained from 01707 281127 or online here.
