YOUNG performers are following the yellow brick road for their next show.

A cast of more than 70 Sandringham School students are putting on a production of The Wizard of Oz next week at the SandPit Theatre at the St Albans school. The year 7, 8 and 9 pupils have spent months rehearsing and drama teacher and co-director Yolande Lansdell said that the play promised to be a great night of family entertainment.

She added: "This is a funky, modern take on the Wizard of Oz, involving adapted songs and specially-choreographed dances from our dance specialists. It's turned out to be a very exciting show."

The Wizard of Oz will run from Thursday to Saturday, March 26-28, starting at 7.30pm. An adult ticket costs 8 and to book your seat, call the SandPit Theatre Box Office on 01727 370067 or visit www.sandpittheatre.co.uk
