Pianist Rob Barron and his quartet play Herts Jazz Club this Sunday, May 1
Mostly seen and heard as an accompanist in a wide variety of musical settings, he has just released a CD as a band leader in his own right and in the company of some jazz heavyweights.
After studying at Leeds and at the Guildhall, Rob’s ability took him from the ranks of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra to working alongside such artists as Al Jarreau, Phil Woods, Benny Golson and Bob Mintzer.
Guitarist Colin Oxley will appear for the first time at the club as a member of the quartet.
The evening at the Hawthorne Theatre, Welwyn Garden City, starts at 7.30pm and tickets in advance are £3 students/£8 members/£10 concessions/£11 full.
On the door they are £5 students/£9 members/£12 concessions/£13 full.
