A Celebration of the Christmas Truce will be honoured by Harpenden Choral Society in a concert in the town next Tuesday, December 16.

To mark the First World War centenary, the concert at 7.30pm in the High Street Methodist Church, will feature carols from England, Scotland, Ireland and Germany with readings of accounts from eyewitnesses of the 1914 Christmas Truce.

Conducted by John Andrews and accompanied on the organ by Joseph McHardy, the concert celebrates the message of peace on Earth and honours the sacrifices of those who fight to preserve it.
