AN alternative seasonal grotto at the Museum of St Albans in December has been hailed as a great success.

Bar Humbug was visited by people of all ages who were treated to live music and various workshops.

Artwork from Joanna Scott and several other local artists helped create a sci-fi and gothic fantasy-type environment.

Music came from Nick Stephenson, a workshop from The Ver Poets, DJing from The Utter Rap Crew, a drumming workshop from DrumUnlimited and music hall entertainment from Allcock and Brown.

The drumming workshop proved particularly popular with Sam from DrumUnlimited leading a spirited samba-style session.

The festive programme of entertainment was provided by St Albans district council and managed by St Albans Arts, Sport and Health, the development arm of Leisure Connection.
