QUILTER Marion McCrindle is holding her first solo exhibition at The Radlett Centre next month.
Entitled The Weekend Quilter, it runs from next Wednesday, June 1, until June 25, and it demonstrates the journal quilt, a monthly small work which can be a test piece of a new technique, a trial for a larger work or simply a record of something that happened in the month.
The exhibition in the theatre’s Apthorp Gallery, illustrates all three options.
Marion first took up quilting in the 1970s and kept her passion alive with lessons in Watford.
She is predominantly inspired by pattern and line – both in nature and man-made – with some ideas arriving during walks in the park and others from patterns on pavements or the exotic patterns and colours of fish.
