A DARKLY comic tale set in the mountains of Connemara, County Galway, comes to the stage of The Radlett Centre next Saturday, November 28.

The Beauty Queen of Leenane tells the story of Maureen Folan, a plain and lonely woman in her early forties and Mag, her manipulative, ageing mother.

Written by Martin McDonagh, the multi-award winning play is performed by London Classic Theatre at 7.30pm.

When Mag interferes in Maureen's first and possibly final chance of a loving relationship, a train of events is set in motion that leads inexorably to the play's terrifying finale.

The play, which has played on Broadway and was nominated for six Tony Awards, is a blend of dark comedy, melodrama, horror and tragedy.
