THE quiet Impressionist, Alfred Sisley, will be the subject of a Radlett Art Society lecture to be held next Thursday, March 4.
Hilary Guise will be giving the lecture on Sisley who was born into a well-to-do family, abandoned a career in business and went to Paris.
In 1862 he studied at the atelier of Swiss artist Marc Charles Gabriel Gleyre where he met Bazille, Monet and Renoir - all of whom found it difficult to sell their work.
The talk begins at 8pm and admission is free for members and �5 for non-members
