A HIGHLY-acclaimed play by a local theatre company has its London debut next week. Tidemark's production of The Regina Monologues will be performed at the Jermyn Street Theatre in Piccadilly from next Monday until Saturday, February 4. The play has already had three sell-out previews in the county and Tidemark, who includes local actresses from St Albans drama group, the Company of Ten, are eagerly anticipating their London debut. Written by Rebecca Russell and Jenny Wafer, the brand-new comedy drama drags the historical legend of the Six Wives of Henry VIII into the 21st century. The stories of six modern women who have all been foolish enough to love the same man unfold as overlapping and intertwining monologues. The writers cleverly link modern themes and solutions to ancient problems as each "queen" opens her heart from a room in which they would all have once lived. The play starts at 8pm each evening with a 4pm matinee on Saturday and further details can be found on the website www.tidemark.co.uk
