YOUNG local organist Robert Dixon will be giving the lunchtime organ recital at Marlborough Road Methodist Church in St Albans on Tuesday, August 4.
From September he will take up the organ scholarship of Gloucester Cathedral but until recently he has been the Organ Scholar at Oundle School in Northants where he studied with James Parsons.
He has been elected to a similar position at Jesus College, Cambridge, for October 2010 to read theology, subject to getting the necessary A-level results.
Robert also studies piano, oboe and voice - he gained the Associate Diploma of the Royal College of Organists in July 2008 and is now working towards the Fellowship Diploma.
He recently performed at St George's in Gateshead and will also be playing at Newcastle, Bradford and Gloucester Cathedrals.
Robert will be appearing at 12.30pm as part of the series of concerts organised by the New School of Organ Studies.
