INTERNATIONAL piano soloist Klaus Sticken will be launching the new series of Wednesday lunchtime concerts at a city centre church.

Klaus will be presenting a programme to celebrate the 200th anniversary year of Franz Liszt’s birth with works by the composer at 1pm next Wednesday, September 14, at St Peter’s Church in St Albans.

He will be playing Liszt’s Second Suite of Piano pieces entitled The Years of Pilgrimage, the theme of which reflects the composer’s travels around Italy. There are eight pieces in the suite, reflecting many impressions of that land upon the composer.

Klaus will also play some pieces from the third Suite to round off his tribute.

Admission is free but donations are invited towards Grove House.
