INTERNATIONAL pianist Klaus Sticken is giving the lunchtime concert at St Peter’s Church in St Albans next Wednesday, September 19.

Based in Vienna, Klaus has more than 15 years experience of such venues as the Tonhalle Zurich, the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow, the Kiev Philharmonie and the Musichalle in Hamburg.

He undertakes concert tours throughout Europe and in the Far East, broadcasts regularly and directs a piano class at the Konservatorium at Wien University.

Klaus will be playing three fantasias including Beethoven’s Sonata in E flat major op. 27, no.1, Sonata quasi una fantasia, Frank Martin’s Fantaisie sur des rythmes flamenco and Robert Schumann’s Fantasy in C Major op. 17.

The concert at 1pm is free but there will be a retiring collection in aid of Iain Rennie Grove House.
