QUEEN of the Skies, Pam Ann, is touching down at the Alban Arena next Tuesday and Wednesday, March 5 and 6.

Direct from sell-out tours in Europe, USA and Australia, Pam Ann ‘Around the World’ takes passengers on a raucous journey from security check-in to boarding to, hopefully, landing.

Glamorous and outrageous Pucci-clad Melbourne-born Pam Ann is the alter-ego of Australian comedienne, creator, writer and producer Caroline Reid whose portrayal of the curvaceous air-hostess is unique in the world of comedy.

Her style leans towards camp humour in the vein of Dame Edna Everage, Kathy Griffin and Chelsea Handler.

Performances start at 8pm and tickets are £20 £23 and £26, available from the Arena box office on 01727 844488 or go to www.alban-arena.co.uk

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of a decade-defining album, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac are back at the Alban Arena next Thursday, March 7.

The band’s 11th studio album, Rumours was described by Mick Fleetwood as “the most important album we ever made”.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac replicate the power, subtlety and emotion of Fleetwood Mac at their best.

Having received Mick Fleetwood’s seal of approval, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac will feature the Rumours album in its entirety including Dreams, Go Your Own Way and The Chain as well as other classics such as Gypsy, Rhiannon, Little Lies and many more.

The evening begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £22.50.

Recreating the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons the following night, Friday, March 8, will be The Ragdolls.

The four harmony vocalists promise sixties pop together with choreography, costumes and big hair.

They will feature many of the band’s worldwide hits, including Beggin’, Can’t Take my Eyes off You, Oh What a Night, Walk Like a Man, Bye Bye Baby (Baby Goodbye), Sherry and Big Girls Don’t Cry.

The show begins at 8pm and tickets are £15.

Songwriter and guitar virtuoso Richard Thompson plays the Arena from 7.30pm next Saturday, March 9, as part of his Electric Tour.

Hailed by Rolling Stone as, “a perennial dark-horse contender for the title of greatest living rock guitarist” his songs have been covered by everyone from Alison Krauss to Robert Plant.

Highly regarded for his guitar techniques and lyrics, Richard made his debut as a recording artist as a member of Fairport Convention in September 1967. His songwriting has earned him an Ivor Novello Award and, in 2006, a lifetime achievement award from BBC Radio.

Tickets are £25 and £22.50.

Writer, comedian, and actor Russell Kane brings his stand up to the Arena from 8pm next Sunday, March 10.

His show consists of asking such questions as, “What if I’m one of the guys who never has a baby?” and “Why is this not a ‘male subject’?”

While exploring these questions he plans to give birth, live on stage, and then raise it in front of the audience!

Russell has been nominated for the Comedy Awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, winning the main prize in August 2010.

He has also performed on the BBC’s popular comedy programme Live at the Apollo.

Tickets are £17.50.
