LOCAL blues fan Bob Ayre is compering a regular series of gigs in Hatfield following the news that the Maltings Arts Theatre in St Albans is to become a cinema.
Bob, who ran monthly club Shades of Blue at the arts theatre until recently, will be compering the season of regular blues gigs at the Attic Bar at The Forum in Hatfield.
Said Bob: “I am really honoured to have been asked by The Forum to front their programme of blues for 2011. With their three different-sized, brand-new state of the art venues, the audience can have the ‘London experience’ without having to go to town.”
The first blues night at 8pm next Thursday, January 27, features Grammy-nominated performer James Hunter who has supported the likes of Aretha Franklin, Boz Scaggs and Van Morrison in the USA. He will performing tracks from his fourth album The Hard Way.
