ELVIS proved he was alive and well when he performed at a city centre bookshop last week.

Elvis, aka Elvince Citrano, a barber in Catherine Street and impersonator of The King, appeared at a promotional event at the neighbouring Oxfam Bookshop to encourage customers not only to buy their CDs and vinyl from the store but also donate their vinyl as well.

The turnout was so good that people started to drift in from 4pm – one hour before the scheduled start – and Elvince sang for three hours accompanied by two friends, Ben Briguglio and Angelo Padermo, both local businessmen and musicians.

Sales for the evening exceeded 700.
