SOUL sensation Mica Paris will be bringing her experience of two decades as a star to the Alban Arena next Saturday, September 26.

One of the finest soul vocalists ever to have emerged on this side of the Atlantic, she is a singing diva collaborating with artists such as Prince, Natalie Cole and Anita Baker as well as an actress and a presenter for TV and radio.

This year she has released her first original studio album in a decade and has also embarked on a nationwide tour.

Mica's new album entitled Born Again was released in May and was produced by legendary hit-maker, Brian Rawling, whose recent single Broken Strings for James Morrison and Nelly Furtado was number one worldwide.

James Morrison wrote Mica's first single off the album, Baby Come Back Now, an up-tempo retro tune that he penned especially for her.

Mica's roots are in soul and gospel music - she grew up singing in her grandparents' church and by her mid teens was making regular appearances with a gospel choir. At 17 she got her first break as a backing vocalist with the UK chart band Hollywood Beyond.

Mica and her band come on stage at 7.30pm and tickets are 18.50, available from the box office on 01727 844488.

Argentina's hottest dance show Tango Fire returns to the Arena the following night, Sunday, September 27.

A smash hit success in 2007, it features 10 dancers accompanied by Quatrotango, a quartet of musicians.

Tango Fire is a journey through the history of a seductive dance form with period duets evoking the glitter and danger of the barrios where the dance was born and the heady nostalgia of the early dance halls.

By contrast the group's modern choreography is edged with the sharpness and sophistication of contemporary Argentina.

Quadrotangle combines the nostalgic tradition of tango with a contemporary cutting edge which results from blending the traditional instruments of tango - bandoneon, piano, violin and double bass. The singer is Pablo Lago on his second tour with Tango Fire.

The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are 23.50 and 19.50.
