Musicians came together to play for free in a tribute to to St Albans-based singer-songwriter Pete Waters who died a year ago.
Pete’s Bailiú (gathering) was held between 4pm and 8pm at the Garibaldi pub in St Albans nearly a year to the day that former Nicholas Breakspear student Pete died from cancer.
His dad Jimmy was a well-known accordion player on the North London Irish circuit in the 1950s and the family moved to St Albans in 1965.
Among the musicians who played for Pete were John Devine, Tom Bagges, Pete ‘The Boy’ Ridley, Tom ‘Johnny Jump Up’ Waters, Ray Waters who plays in the band The Zipheads and Pete’s eldest son Ray Waters.
They were joined by Bruce ‘Brewsta’ Furzman, Katie Masson and Juan, and Russ and Cara Rodford.
