OVER 1,500 was raised for one of the Mayor's charities at an art exhibition at St Albans Town Hall.
Held at the weekend, it featured the work of local artists and was to raise money for St Albans Citizens Advice Bureau.
Around 30 paintings were sold during the event with exhibiting artists donating 10 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of their art to CAB to further boost the fundraising.
The Mayor, Cllr Chris Oxley, said: "The success was not only financial; A huge number of visitors attended, including some from Bristol and some from abroad."
