THE first in the 2012 series of lunchtime organ recitals, run by the New School of Organ Studies, will be held on Tuesday (January 3).
It will be given by Peter St John Stokes, organist of St Silas and Holy Trinity churches in Kentish Town. Peter lives in St Albans and was head of music at Loreto College for 21 years.
The programme he will play was inspired by a visit to Prague last year, during which he wondered about the sort of music which was played in the many fine baroque churches there.
The recital will be held at Marlborough Road Methodist Church and gets under way at 12.30pm. Admission is free and light refreshments will be available before and after the programme.
