The London Welsh Male Voice Choir were welcomed back to the Harpenden High Street Methodist Church on Saturday to sing at a fundraising concert.

The choir first performed at the church in 2013 and this year returned to raise over £2,500 for addiction treatment charity, The Living Room, and church funds.

Under the baton of Edward-Rhys Harry, the choir performed an extensive repertoire of both secular and spiritual music at the sell-out concert which was attended by the Mayor of St Albans, Cllr Annie Brewster, and the Mayor of Harpenden, Cllr Rosemary Farmer.

Their songs included Bring him home from Les Miserables, An American Trilogy and Gweddi’r Arglwydd – The Lord’s Prayer in Welsh. The concert finished with the audience singing the Welsh national anthem in Welsh.

Local soprano, Alison Langer, and tenor Lawrence Thackeray entertained the audience with songs including Mister Snow from Carousel and a duet from Romeo and Juliet.
