THE Blacksmith’s Arms has an interesting line-up of artists this week, including Pimp My Band open mic night on Thursday August 9, from 9pm.
The evening features the talent of Neil Oxtoby fronting The Pimps’ house band and guests. Admission is free.
On Friday, August 10, there is a free gig from 9pm, with classic soul and disco from the 1970s and ’80s to herald the start of boogie time, courtesy of Huggy Flares.
Staying with music from various decades, on Saturday, August 11, from 9pm, the Free Electric Band, featuring John Clare from the Bruvvers, bring their own style to 1960s British R’n’B and pop music. This gig is also free at the pub, located in the centre of St Albans.
