WELSH artist Steven Jones is exhibiting his latest paintings in a Harpenden gallery throughout June.
Known to his friends as Jones the Brush, Steven is showcasing his signature impressionist beach scenes featuring kids playing in the sand at the A & K Wilson Gallery.
Redolent of family holidays, his canvases are filled with all the fun of high summer with buckets and spades very much to the fore.
The irony of being a painter of sunshine given the vagaries of the British weather is not lost on Steven who jokes: “Of course coming from North Wales I’m used to basking in the sweltering sun! So what could be more natural than for me to focus on beach paintings?”
The gallery can be found in Station Approach and a selection of Steven’s work can be seen at www.akwilsongallery.co.uk.
