BBC Young Musician hopeful, Julian Trevelyan, is bringing his piano trio to St Albans next Thursday, March 20, for a lunchtime concert in aid of charity.
The concert, which starts at 1.10pm at St Saviour’s Church in Sandpit Lane, is raising money for the Mayor of St Albans charity, The Living Room.
Julian, with his colleagues Timothy Crawford (violin) and Abraham Wallfisch (cello), will be playing three works – Beethoven’s short piano trio movement in Bb major, Debussy’s youthful G major piano trio and the third piano trio by Martinu in C major.
Julian, an ex-chorister from St Albans Cathedral Choir, has recently been competing in the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2014, and appears in the piano category final which will be broadcast on BBC4 at 7.30pm on Friday, May 9.
Tim Crawford and Abraham Wallfisch are first-year music college students in London. The musicians came together at the 2013 MusicWorks summer course.
Admission to the concert is free with a retiring collection in aid of The Living Room.
