THE Julian Arguelles Quartet plays Herts Jazz Club from 7.45pm on Sunday.

Julian has established himself as one of Europe’s finest jazz musicians. He has recently completed four successful years as part of the world-renowned Frankfurt Radio Big Band and as a soloist he regularly performs with internationally celebrated musicians including Hermeto Pascoal, Steve Swallow and John Abercrombie.

At the age of 14 he began touring with the European Community Big Band and in 1985 he went on to join the 21-piece UK big band Loose Tubes, performing with them for four years and appearing on two albums.

Julian is joined at the jazz club which meets at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City, by Kit Downes on piano, Sam Lasserson, bass and James Maddren, drums
