FOOTBALL legend Jimmy Greaves brings his unique brand of comedy and irreverent anecdotes to The Radlett Centre at 8pm next Wednesday, June 20.

Once the most famous and feted footballer in the land, the late comedian Les Dawson once said when asked to speak at a sporting dinner: “If that Greavsie is on make sure I don’t follow him. He doesn’t take prisoners with his material.

“I hate him because he could play football better than me and now tells jokes that I want to nick.”

Greavsie scored an all-time record 357 First Division goals plus 44 for England in just 57 games (the all-time record of 49 goals took Bobby Charlton 106 matches to amass). In all matches before his premature retirement in 1971 at the age of just 31 he scored a modern record 491 goals.

He will be introduced by his friend, agent and experienced compere Terry Baker who claims that Jimmy never ducks a question in his Ask Greavsie question and answer session that closes the show.

Tickets for Jimmy Greaves At 70 are 19.50 with concessions 18.50, available from the box office on 01923 859291 or go to www.radlettcentre.co.uk
