IBSEN’S The Master Builder is coming to the Abbey Theatre studio courtesy of The Company of Ten.
Henrik Ibsen’s incisive take on the male mid-life crisis tells the tale of admired and respected master builder, Halvard Solness, as he contemplates the end of his long career, fearing the rising generation of talented young architects who threaten his prominent position. When a young seductress comes into his life he is enraptured by her youth and vivacity, and the balance of power that Solness has been so careful to preserve starts to shift. Who is the master now?
Ibsen’s timeless classic is presented by the Company of Ten in a new version by David Edgar.
Performances take place on October 10–12 and 16–19 at 8pm in the Abbey Theatre Studio, with a Sunday matinée on October 13 at 2.30pm. To book tickets go to www.abbeytheatre
