SAX-MAN Iain Ballamy is playing the Herts Jazz Club this Sunday night.
Renowned in Europe as the ‘Fantastic Englishman’, Ballamy established himself playing alongside notables including Hermeto Pascoal, the late Gil Evans, George Coleman, Dewey Redman, Mike Gibbs and the New York Composers Orchestra.
Touring extensively worldwide, he has appeared at most international festivals and venues. He can be heard on over 40 CDs and has been a long time collaborator with Django Bates since the days of Loose Tubes and Bill Bruford’s Earthworks.
Iain will playing a set of standards with Clark Tracey’s trio.
The evening at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City, gets underway at 7.45pm and tickets are �11 online at www.hawthornetheatre.co.uk/whatsonstage, �13 at the door and �5 for students and under-21s.
