Frontman of alternative rock band I Am Kloot, John Bramwell, is appearing at Harpenden Public Halls next Friday, June 13.

John’s previous life involved booking bands at Manchester’s Night and Day during the 90s and a period spent performing under the guise Johnny Dangerously,

The band’s album Let It All In was followed by You, Me and the Alarm Clock which was described in The Guardian as one of ‘the greatest albums you’ve never heard’.

To mark the 70th Anniversary of the historic D-Day landings in June 1944, The Songs that Won the War will be marching on Harpenden Public Halls next Saturday, June 14.

Set in wartime Britain, the D-Day Darlings celebrate the era with such classics as We’ll Meet Again, Now is the Hour, White Cliffs of Dover, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and many more.

Katie Ashby, the show’s director and cast member, said: “Having done a lot of research into this era, I am touched by the upheaval our ancestors had to face – whether they were evacuated or sent away to fight for our country. Leaving loved ones behind, many remained strong through these difficult times whilst upholding their solidarity and community spirit.

We are also proud to be raising funds and awareness during this year’s tour for the Royal British Legion who continue to support war veterans, past and present.”
