A tribute to the soundtrack of the movie Dirty Dancing can be seen at Harpenden Public Halls next Thursday, March 24.

After five years of touring, An Evening of Dirty Dancing: The Tribute Show, can be seen at 7.30pm.

It features all the classic songs from Big Girls Don’t Cry and Hey Baby to Wipeout and Do You Love Me as well as the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.

The Beat, one of the biggest bands of the 2-Tone movement, play the Public Halls next Friday, March 25.

The 2016 line-up features Ranking Roger and Ranking Junior on vocals with Oscar Harrison on drums, Andy Pearson and Steve Harper on guitars.

The Beat are known for a string of hit singles including Mirror In The Bathroom, Too Nice To Talk To, Can’t Get Used To Losing You, Hands Off She’s Mine and All Out To Get You.

Their songs of peace, love and unity fuse ska, pop, reggae and punk rock.

The gig begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £20.

A limited number of tickets remain for Jenny Eclair’s Guide To Being A Middle Aged Woman (Without Going Insane) next Sunday, March 27.

The show was rescheduled from last October and features the professional Grumpy Old Woman, Splash survivor, amateur soup maker and novice knittter putting middle age under the microscope and deciding whether to laugh, cry or buy a dachsund.

She tackles questions such as: Is swearing better than crying? HRT or boxercise - you decide? Why are so many young people idiots? Is Chardonnay medicinal? and How many episodes of ‘Bake Off” does it take to lower your blood pressure?

The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £23.50.
