FAMILY favourite musical Annie is being performed by young students of Harpenden Youth Theatre in the Public Halls on Saturday. It marks a busy week for the theatre group with older students debuting at the Maltings Arts Theatre with a murder mystery comedy tonight (Thursday).

Professional actor John Stenhouse, who founded the youth company in 2006, said: “We aim to bring fun, performance-based classes to children and young adults and keep the students excited with shows that they really want to perform.

John continued: “It’s a real juggling act this week. As well as directing both the youth theatre productions I’ve got to step in on stage as a Maid and Daddy Warbucks. I’d better make sure the costumes are at the right theatre!”
