Harpenden Mayor praises artists’ show

AN EXHIBITION by five local artists in Harpenden had a VIP visitor when it opened to the public.

Town Mayor, Cllr Daniel Chichester-Miles, was the special guest at an open evening held by Artscape Arts as part of the Open Studios initiative run by the Herts Visual Arts Forum (HVAF).

He said: “I was delighted to visit the exhibition and was very impressed with the standard of work on display. Harpenden has many fine artists and it is wonderful that they have the opportunity to show their work and create further interest through the HVAF.”

Exhibiting their work are Helen Brooks, printmaking, Teresa Kirkpatrick, painting and photography, Judith Menges, glass art and glass jewellery, Hillary Taylor, mixed media 3D and photography, and Sue Wookey, painting and photography.

The exhibition runs at the Artscape premises in Southdown until the end of this month.
